1. "Basic Introduction to Wine" - for those new to wine and wanting to learn the basics quickly. This is a quick A-Z of wine for the beginner wanting to get to grips with wine from a basic tasting and technical perspective. This is a 1.5-3H course similar to WSET Level 1-2, but more interactive and a bit more FUN!: How Wine is Made: The most common ~7-8 grape varieties and how grapes become wine Growing Locations: A quick tour of the main growing regions of the Old and New World of wine Everyday Wine Drinking: Identify a wine by its label; Food and Wine; Why does a certain wine taste like it does Tasting Wine: How to identify wine characteristics and how to remember them *The above can be covered in a very basic detail in approx 1.5 hours, though we would recommend setting aside at least 2 hours.
2. "Around the (wine) World" - this course is aimed at those wanting to take their knowledge to the next level. The focus of the material remains tasting, rather than theory, but we get into more detail on the following topics. The basic content includes: A brief look at Wine history and its relevance today The Wine Making Process - including sparkling, dry and sweet wines The most common 15-20 grapes Terroir - Old Vs New World, Warm and Cool climates Handling and Storing Wine Tasting - the most common methods; what tools you need in order to taste effectively Wine and Food *Again, the points above can be covered in short form or long form. Once down the rabbit hole, each topic could take up to an hour easily. We can cater to each individual requirement, however we would suggest the above requires a minimum of 3 hours.
3. Preparation for accreditations such as WSET courses (1-3) & WSG French Wine Scholar. For those embarking on a career in wine, or simply looking to add some Certifications, we offer a specific "how to" for a number of official accreditations. Please enquire below for details.
